Phase three of the Review
This phase involved the review of current and identification of new disaster risk reduction and contingency plans for identified priority disaster risks using a participatory process. The tool 'Whose Disaster is it Anyway' developed by DMS NPC was used to identify primary and secondary agents responsible for managing the disaster risks.
Phase four of the Review
This phase involved the development of a Disaster Risk Management Funding Arrangements Model for a fully operational Disaster Management Centre. DMS NPC facilitated a workshop attended by multiple stakeholders to discuss how the Funding Arrangement Model should cover the four key performance areas and the three enablers, with special emphasis on strategic disaster management priorities for the district.
Final phases of the Review
DMS NPC facilitated a workshop to discuss the proposed amendments to both the framework and the plan. This workshop was well attended and included interesting debates on the proposed placement and structure of the Waterberg District Municipality's Disaster Management function.
